Chris McLeod is an advertising agency-trained Strategic Marketing professional who has led marketing programs in both the private and public sectors in New York City and Washington DC. He has worked with such esteemed organizations as The National Urban League, Americans for the Arts, Stax Museum, and The Arts Council of Indianapolis to name a few. He is also a regular speaker at various conferences around the country, sharing his knowledge about how to use a strategic marketing approach to build audiences and engage underserved communities.
He started his career in the music and entertainment world, licensing music and other content for both MTV International and Black Entertainment Television, including the former BETJazz channel and the BET network. While at these industry-leading music television entities he negotiated fees and contracts with record labels and music publishing companies.
A passion for Marketing and helping clients led him to the prestigious Omnicom Group MBA Residency Program where he learned Brand Strategy, Digital Marketing, and Global Advertising from some of the top marketing and advertising agencies in the world. His most notable clients included ExxonMobil, Microsoft, and AT&T to name a few. An opportunity to expand his client base in the public sector brought him back to Washington DC where he contributed to the branding, marketing and communications efforts for government agencies such as the Department of Defense (DOD), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the Small Business Administration (SBA).
Currently, Chris works with a variety of clients including arts organizations, small businesses, non-profits, and large foundations helping them to redefine their value proposition in competitive marketplaces.
